Senior Home Safety Inspections
AAA Advanced Home Inspections, Inc. Is experienced, licensed, bonded and insured to do the senior home inspection to
help seniors, our most fragile citizens to stay in their homes.

We have each been touched by the struggle of our parents or friends trying to remain in their homes, surrounded by their
memories and hanging on to the freedoms they would lose in group housing. As your family members or loved ones age,
so do their homes. It is good practice to step back occasionally and examine the home to see how well the living
arrangement supports your loved ones’ daily needs and activities. There are many steps you can take to ensure that your
family members stay safe and comfortable in their home. Often these changes can be made with little or no cost, while they
also make homes more user-friendly and welcoming. Being able to decide when to have a meal, retire for the evening, or
simply doing what they want to do when they want to do it doesn't seem much like freedom, until you lose
those choices.

Many of us have had to face the hard decision of taking our loved ones away from their homes to “make them safe,” but
what if we can keep them safe in their homes just a while longer. Living in your own home is a precious privilege and the
ultimate in American quality of life.

The bottom line is that when they could, our seniors kept their families safe at home. Now it is our turn to help them. It is
what happens in the course of life.

Each year, many older Americans are injured in and around their homes. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission
(CPSC) estimates that in 1981, over 622,000 people over age 65 were treated in hospital emergency rooms for injuries
associated with products they live with and use everyday.

CPSC believes that many of these injuries result from hazards that are easy to overlook, but also easy to fix. By spotting
these hazards and taking some simple steps to correct them, many injuries might be prevented.

Why we are here:
This program is in honor of the people who inspired us by living the best they could with as much dignity as they could
grasp and hold onto. The inspection program is to improve the quality of life for those we love and to make sure it is a safe
environment for them

Until now, checking house safety was ignored:
Currently, many other services are provided to assist in this “quality of life” decision to remain in the home. Programs are
provided for home health care, provision of meals, transportation needs, assistance with financial and tax issues, and
other areas of need. This is the first program designed to identify health and safety hazards in the dwelling itself for your
loved ones and caretakers alike.

The Center for Disease Control has identified home hazards as a serious and significant factor on the health of Seniors
and other “at risk” populations. A fall, fire, carbon monoxide or other event can end the ability of people to continue to live in
there home. Environmental conditions can trigger serious health decline. As an example, mold can be the source of
unnecessary medical costs and reduced quality of life for a respiratory patient.

Our goal:
Senior Home Safety Inspections are intended to provide the client, occupant, health care providers, home services
providers and other responsible parties with objective information regarding the observed conditions of the systems and
components of the property. This information can be used to increase quality of life, reduce health care costs, risks to care
providers and better direct the care of the property occupants.
